The ColourMind is the first album released under The ColourMind project by Joshua M. Alexander.
The album brings together songs written across many years, some dating back decades, now reimagined and produced using modern music technology.
Many of these songs began as simple guitar or piano ideas long before today’s digital tools existed. With the emergence of powerful music production technology and AI-assisted composition tools, Joshua has been able to revisit these ideas and finally bring them to life.
The result is an album that blends classic songwriting influences with modern sound design. The music draws inspiration from artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, The Rolling Stones, and The Who, while exploring multiple genres including progressive rock, classic rock, alternative, and experimental styles.
The goal of The ColourMind is not to stay within a single genre, but to explore sound, emotion, and storytelling through music.
